CM Punk Not Expected on RAW Tonight

CM Punk Not Expected on RAW Tonight Due to Filming Schedule

CM Punk Not Expected on RAW Tonight – WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is not slated to appear on tonight’s episode of RAW, according to a report from PWInsider.

Punk is currently in the middle of filming The Bodyguard, an upcoming romantic comedy headed to Netflix. He plays a character named Doghouse, described as a physically imposing member of the security team who mixes loyalty with humor. The film is adapted from Katherine Center’s 2022 novel and features Jared Padalecki and Leighton Meester, with Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum directing.

With Punk unavailable, WWE will move forward with a full lineup as the build continues toward Saturday Night’s Main Event. Gunther is confirmed for an in-ring segment to discuss his retirement match against John Cena coming up this Saturday, a moment expected to highlight the final chapter of his in-ring career.

Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is also advertised. She will address what lies ahead for her title reign as the division continues to shift around her. On the tag team front, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee will put the World Tag Team Championship on the line against Erik and Ivar of The War Raiders.

The episode also includes Finn Balor vs. Rey Mysterio in a singles match featuring two long-time rivals. Roxanne Perez and Lyra Valkyria are set to clash as well, adding another key bout to a busy night on RAW as WWE inches closer to Saturday’s event.

Royal Rumble 2026 Expected to Feature a Four-Match Lineup

Royal Rumble 2026 Expected to Feature a Four-Match Lineup

Royal Rumble 2026 Expected to Feature a Four-Match Lineup – WWE is preparing a streamlined approach for its first Premium Live Event of 2026, with early indications pointing toward one of the most condensed Royal Rumble cards the company has presented in years. The January 31 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is expected to include just four matches, following the same structure used for November’s WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2025.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the current plan centers around the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches, supported by two championship bouts to complete the show. This format gives WWE room to keep the event tightly focused on major stipulations and high stakes without adding filler to an already packed evening of action.

As of now, WWE has not finalized which titles will be defended in the remaining two matches. Officials are still evaluating their options as storylines continue to unfold across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. With nearly two months to go before the event, the company is keeping its creative decisions open, allowing room for shifts in momentum, new contenders to emerge, and possible surprise twists that traditionally shape the early weeks of the Royal Rumble season.

The decision to keep the card small suggests WWE wants to spotlight the Rumble matches themselves while ensuring that the title bouts included feel meaningful. A compact lineup also gives the company flexibility as it builds toward its first major milestone of 2026 and begins laying the groundwork for the year ahead.

John Cena On How He’s Booked In WWE: ‘I Don’t View It As My Choice’

While his opinions about the way he steps into wrestling are his own, John Cena did admit that he sees many wrestlers who try to take their characters and portrayals into their own hands, and gave his take on their efforts as well.

“I do see a lot of performers spend their time, invest their time, to try to curate their own destiny – and again, not wrong – it’s… The wrestling [industry] is a ‘chicken soup business’: there’s no wrong way to do it,” he noted. “I just always wanted to know what you need, the outcome you want, the piece in the chessboard I can play, and can I do it my way?” Cena further emphasized that the only time he would ever inject would be if he could get the chance to do it his way.

Either way, Cena’s career will officially come to an end this weekend on the 13th of December when he faces GUNTHER in the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event. Whether or not he bests the ‘Ring General’ will be seen this weekend, but based on what Cena claimed, because it’ll be his final match, the end result will likely be his way regardless.

Backstage Update On AEW Status Of Absent Ex-World Champion MJF

After having a weekend from hell in September that saw him lose the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship to Mistico at the CMLL Aniversario and a Tables N’ Tacts match to Mark Briscoe at AEW All Out, MJF has been absent from AEW programming, reportedly off filming “Violent Night 2.” With filming wrapped up though, it’s been expected that MJF would be returning to AEW some time in December.

That still appears to be the plan, even though MJF was nowhere to be seen on “Dynamite” or “Collision” during December’s first week. Wrestlevotes Live on Fightful Select reports that MJF was factored into plans for AEW Worlds End later this month, and has been dating back to the week of Thanksgiving. No further details were provided on what MJF would be doing.

For some, however, the answer is obvious following last week’s episode of “Dynamite,” when AEW announced the return of the Dynamite Diamond Ring. AEW wrestlers will compete in a Battle Royal set for “Holiday Bash” next week, with the two finalists then fighting for the ring at “Dynamite on 34th Street” on Christmas Eve. MJF has won the Dynamite Diamond Ring each time it’s been fought for since being introduced in 2019, making him the only man to hold the ring in history.

There may be even more motivation for MJF to win the ring than usual, as the winner of the ring will receive an AEW title shot at “Dynamite: Maximum Carnage” on January 14 from Phoenix, Arizona. MJF has been attempting to win back the AEW World Championship throughout 2025, unsuccessfully challenging “Hangman” Adam Page for the title at Forbidden Door, and maintains the All In Casino Gauntlet contract, which allows him to challenge for the title with a week’s notice.
